In my early-twenties, I noticed I was developing several food intolerances and my body slowly became highly sensitive to environmental changes. After having seen several doctors, naturopaths, and Functional Medicine providers, over the past several years, I was eventually diagnosed with both PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome) and SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth). While my diagnoses did require me to make several lifestyle changes, such as switching to a plant-based and gluten-free diet and taking several gut health supplements, I promised myself that I would not let this get in the way of continuing to pursue my passion for travel. Since my diagnosis, I began traveling solo and discovering the best plant-based and gluten-free friendly restaurants around the world. As a result, The Uncharted Gypsy was born, in order to provide insight and tips on solo female travel, dining out if you’re plant-based or wish to try plant-based restaurants while traveling, as well as to provide tips on how best to navigate traveling, if diagnosed with PCOS and/or SIBO, in order to empower you to live your best life!
